Welcome to Mortalis Game (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have control over your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our website, game services, and community features, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

2. Information We Collect

A. Information Provided via Identity Providers (OAuth)

When you authenticate or link an external account, we collect the following data:

• Discord: User ID, Username & discriminator, Email address, Email verification status, Profile picture, and Access token (for server join automation).
• Google: Email address (primary), Email verification status, Profile picture, and Display name.
• Steam: Steam User ID, Public profile username, and Profile picture.

B. User Profile & Account Data

We collect and store specific information to manage your account:

• Identity Data: Email address, Username (unique or imported), Avatar/Profile picture.
• Preferences: Timezone, daily reset preferences, Profile visibility settings (isPublic), RootSeed visibility (showRootSeed).
• Account Metadata: Account creation timestamp, RootSeed balance, and “Valued Survivor” status (based on purchase history).

C. Activity & Usage Data

To provide gameplay features, we track:

• Achievement claims and completion history.
• Activity completions (daily/weekly/monthly recurring activities).
• Inventory items and transaction history.
• Friend relationships and requests.
• Notification history.
• Leaderboard snapshots (Daily and Historical).
• Reports submitted regarding other users.

D. Transactional & Verification Data

• E-commerce: WooCommerce order data, order items, and transaction history.
• Forms: Job applications and Survey responses (anonymous where specified).
• Referrals: Referral codes, relationships, and grace period tracking.
• Identity Verification (Planned Feature): Future Know Your Customer (KYC) data for Marketplace access.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data for the following purposes:

• Service Provision: To create accounts, track game progress, manage inventory, and maintain leaderboards.
• Community Integration: Our Discord Bot uses public profile data to generate profile banners and allows users to query public stats.
• Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent multiple account creation by the same natural person.
• Eligibility Verification: To determine access to specific features (e.g., verifying “Valued Survivor” status for Marketplace access).
• Legal Compliance: To maintain tax records and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Account Linking and Unlinking

You may link multiple identity providers to a single account. Please note the following logic regarding your data:

• Primary ID: If multiple accounts of the same type (e.g., Discord) are linked, strict limits apply (currently limited to 1 per type).
• Email Persistence: Unlinking a provider does not delete the associated email address if it is set as your main account email.
  Example: If you sign up via Google, your Google email becomes your default. If you later link Discord and then unlink Google, the Google email remains your Mortalis Game email.
• Profile Pictures: Downloaded profile pictures remain as your account avatar even after unlinking, unless manually changed.

5. Account Restrictions and Commercial Features

A. Single Account Policy

To ensure fair play and system integrity, we enforce a strict one account per natural person policy.
Restrictions:

• Creating multiple accounts for the same person is prohibited.
• Inventory Locking: Transferring inventory items between accounts owned or controlled by the same person is strictly forbidden.

B. Mortalis Store

Access to the “Mortalis Store” for purchasing digital items is restricted to authenticated users who have created a valid Survivor’s Camp account on our website. Guest purchases are not permitted.

C. Survivor’s Marketplace (Future Feature)

We are developing a peer-to-peer Marketplace for exchanging digital inventory items. Access to this feature will be strictly regulated:

• Transaction Rules: Transactions are permitted only between different natural persons.
• “Valued Survivor” Status: To participate, a user must first attain “Valued Survivor” status. This status is granted automatically after successfully completing at least one purchase in the Mortalis Store.
• KYC Requirement: Eligible users (“Valued Survivors”) must pass a Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification process before accessing Marketplace features.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Public Visibility: By default, your username, avatar, and game stats may be visible on leaderboards.
• Service Providers: We use third-party services (Google, Discord, Steam) for authentication and hosting.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, the following rules apply:

Cascade Deletion (Deleted Immediately)

• Inventory items, Achievement claims, Title claims.
• Friend relationships, Notifications.

Data Retained or Anonymized

• Referrals: Relationships may be set to null rather than fully deleted.
• Financial Records: WooCommerce invoice data is retained to comply with local tax and accounting laws.
• Email/Username: Removed from the active user table but may exist in backup logs for a limited retention period.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

• Access & Portability: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Update your username, timezone, or email via Account Settings.
• Restrict Processing: Toggle your profile or RootSeed balance to “Private”.
• Deletion: Request the deletion of your account (subject to the retention rules above).
